Elyria - Trena Marie Gibson, 52, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026 at her home in Elyria, OH.

Trena was born on November 26, 1973, in Charleston, West Virginia, to her loving parents, Herman Gibson and Betty Hamilton. Nothing meant more to Trena than spending time with her beloved grandsons, Nicholas and Odin. When she wasn’t with them, she enjoyed playing games such as shut-the-box, frisbee, and BINGO, as well as watching westerns, fishing, gardening, crocheting, and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Betty Hamilton and Nicholas Demich Jr.; her father and stepmother, Herman and Sharon Gibson; her sister, Tina Sebastian; and her brother, Joshua Gibson.

Trena is survived by her daughters, Trisha Clifford and Tonya Gibson; her sons, Timothy Kirby, Trevor Nelson, and Travis Nelson; her sister, Sara Gibson-Fields; her longtime companion, David Nelson; her grandsons, Nicholas and Odin Clifford; her nieces, Tara Cuenin and Amanda Witten; and her nephews, Christopher Witten and Cameron Cuenin.
