Lorain - Norma Jean Flores, 93, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Avon Oaks Caring Community in Avon, OH.

She was born on January 20, 1933 to her loving parents, Carlo and Jane (nee Coville) Tocchi in Lorain. She was a graduate of Clearview High School and later in life she worked there as a payroll clerk. She also worked at the Lorain Journal and Lorain National Bank.

Norma Jean enjoyed gardening and cooking, and she loved her pet dogs. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Elyria and could be found volunteering at the Clearview High School football games selling tickets with her sister, Lucy.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Flores; parents, Jane and Carlo Tocchi; sisters, Beatrice (Pasquale) Caserta (Ben) Johns, Hortenze “Toots” (Amos) McClelland, and Lucy (William) Laschen; and brother, Camillo “Jack” (Anne) Tocchi.

Norma Jean is survived by her step-daughters, Eva (Terry) Bindernagel, Monica (John) Lorenz, and Jacqui Flores; step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren; cousins, Patsy Polito and Frank Polito; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Avon Oaks Caring Community for their loving care they provided for Norma Jean during her stay.

The family will receive friends at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 41295 N Ridge Rd, Elyria, OH 44035, on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 9:00 - 10:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 AM with Fr. Neil Walters, Pastor, officiating. Christian Burial services will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain immediately following the Mass.
