LaVerne J. Dito (nee: Swaney)

Lorain-LaVerne Dito, 96, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026 at Avon Oaks Caring Community in Avon, OH surrounded by her loving family.

LaVerne was born in Lorain, OH on December 12,1929 to her loving parents, Leo and Margaret (nee: Holland) Swaney. She married Andrew Joseph Dito I in 1953. LaVerne was a homemaker and an avid volunteer at the surgical desk for Lorain Community Hospital. She enjoyed volunteering for St. Peter Festival since 2000 and performing at the Lorain Palace in the Follies singing to make money for Lorain Community Hospital. LaVerne was a member of St. Peter Parish in Lorain, I.A.V. Ladies Auxiliary, and the Knights of Columbus. She loved bowling and was inducted into Bowler's Hall of Fame in 2008. LaVerne enjoyed singing karaoke and she was an avid sewer.

She is survived by her loving children, Pegi Dito, Andrea Lee Dito, Andrew J. Dito II; son-in-law, Chuck Noll; 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, and sister, Lorraine (Bill) Drexler.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Andrew J. Dito I; parents, Leo and Margaret Swaney; daughter, Cheryl Noll; and granddaughter, Andrea Torres.

The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440)244-1961 on Friday, September 11, 2026 from 11:00 AM until the time of funeral services at 1:00 PM.
