Geraldine H. (Hughes) Thompson Obituary (1939

Geraldine H. Thompson Lorain - Geraldine Harriet (nee Hughes) Thompson, 81, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home with her family by her side. Jerri was born on November 13, 1939 in Summersville, WV to her parents Samuel and Strausy (nee Donelson) Hughes. She married the love of her life, Francis Lacy Thompson Sr. on June 14, 1958. She obtained her associate degree in Nursing and worked as a LPN at Elyria Methodist Home. Jerri enjoyed doing crafts, playing BINGO and cards, spending time outside, feeding the birds and she cherished her family. She is survived by her son, Francis (Frank) Thompson Jr.; sister, Mary Lou Valentin; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Pete, Valerie, and Brendon Thompson; and great grandchildren, Alaya Thompson, Lynn Hess, Aerial Thompson, Hunter Thompson, D'Angelo Smith and Geraldine Aponte-Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Sherman and Strausy Mae Hughes; husband, Francis Lacy Thompson Sr.; and brothers, Harry Lee Hughes and Arthur Gene Mason Family and friends will be received at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, OH, on Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 11:00 AM until the time of the memorial service at 12:00 PM, Rev. David Rogers, officiating.
