Edmond M. Kattas Obituary (1924

Lorain- Edmond M. Kattas, 90, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at MetroHealth in Cleveland, OH. Edmond was born on August 10, 1924 in Lorain, OH. He married Evelyn M. (nee: Gavigan) on September 18, 1955, and they raised three daughters together. He graduated from Lorain High School, Class of 1942 and following graduation he was a mailman for the United States Post Office for forty years. Edmond was a member of the Church of the Redeemer and a social member of the IAV. He enjoyed bowling and league play at Rebman's, watching all sports, gardening at his home, casino games and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his daughters, Kathy Kattas of Lorain, Nancy Ciccarelli of Lorain, and Sandy Jacovetti of North Olmsted; and grandchildren, Daniel Szabo, Kristen Jacovetti, Stacey Jacovetti, and Sarah Lash; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Evelyn M. Kattas on August 19, 2014; parents, Samuel and Barbara Kattas; and brother, Emil Kattas. The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961 on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 3-7 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home, 10:00 AM, Thursday, April 23, 2015, Rev. Mary C. Carson, officiating. Burial services will be held at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Twp.
